Teresa Tran, MS, CCC-SLP
Speech Language Pathologist
Helping others has always been a source of motivation for Teresa. As a little girl, the first member in her family to be born in America, she has always had a different perspective. Her family came to the United States to give her and her siblings a better life and instill upon them the value of hard work and an education. Culturally and linguistically, she has had to learn how to balance and juggle her views. This juggling act gives rise to her compassion and understanding for those who struggle to communicate, as she had to learn English on her own.
Teresa’s educational background consists of a Baccalaureate degree in the Arts at Texas A&M, Corpus Christi in the field of Mass Communications. She completed the Post Baccalaureate program at the University of Houston in Communication Disorders. Her master’s degree was received from Texas Woman’s University in Speech Language Pathology.
Teresa’s work experience is in largely based in the schools, where she has been for the past seven years. Along with the school setting experience, she has worked in home health for the previous three years and during the summers, she enjoy working with adults in the hospital setting. The variety of settings allows her to utilize many skills and gain knowledge with different methodologies and strategies. Teresa speaks Vietnamese, functional-elementary level Spanish and sign language.
With a diverse experience in all age groups and disorders, involving articulation, language, speech disorders and behaviors. Teresa brings a special perspective to speech therapy, with a unique cultural background and familiarity with school, hospital and home health settings. She enjoys being creative and up to date with my therapy methods, reassuring they are always effective and evidence based. It would a privilege for her to work with you or your child for the benefit and progress of your communication needs.
Krystle Cantu, BS, SLP-Assistant
Speech Language Pathology – Assistant
Krystle Cantu has a Bachelors of Science in Communication Sciences and Disorders from University of Houston. Prior to working as a Speech Language Pathologist-Assistant Krystle worked as a Pharmacy Technician at a Long Term Acute Care Facility (Kindred Hospital) and CVS/Pharmacy for 5 years.
While visiting her sister in her work environment as a Special Education teacher, a Speech Language Pathologist stopped by to work with a student. After observing the therapy session and hearing about the progress that was made due to speech therapy Krystle knew this was the field she wanted to join to make a difference.
Home Health is a setting Krystle has always preferred due to having the patients feeling most comfortable to work on any speech deficiencies. In the home setting patients receive one-on-one therapy allowing them to reach their full potential within their natural environment.
In her free time, Krystle enjoys traveling with her family, playing volleyball, trying out new restaurants and taking her dogs to the park.
